Pakistan’s forex reserves fall by $240 million to $13.597 billion

KARACHI: Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves fell by $240 million to $13.597 billion by week ended January 04, 2019 as compared with $13.837 billion in the preceding week, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said on Thursday.



The official reserves of the SBP also declined by $239 million to $7.048 billion from previous week’s level of $7.287 billion. The central bank said that the reserves were declined due to external debt servicing and other official payments.

The reserves held by the commercial banks were flat a $6.548 billion.
