2024 Kia Sorento Unveiled in LA Auto Show with X-Pro Variant

The 2024 Kia Sorento, unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show, boasts a confident exterior redesign, premium interior, and an exciting X-Pro variant for outdoor enthusiasts.

Infused with cutting-edge technology from the 2024 EV9, the Sorento seamlessly combines advanced features with rugged appeal.

Expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2024, the 2024 Sorento will be available in LX, S, EX, SX, and SX-P trims, with X-Line on EX and above, and X-Pro on SX-P. HEV and PHEV models are set to arrive as 2025 models later in the year.

Consistent Performance

Available in FWD or AWD, the Sorento maintains a composed ride. The LX and S trims feature a 2.5-liter I-4 GDI engine, while upper trims, including X-Line and X-Pro, offer a power boost with a 2.5-liter turbocharged I-4 GDI. Active on-demand all-wheel drive, a center locking differential, and torque vectoring contribute to enhanced driving performance.

Striking SUV Makeover

The Sorento showcases a powerful stance, blending Kia’s “Opposites United” design and “Bold for Nature” concept. The front hood and squared edges draw inspiration from the award-winning Telluride, while the rear features unmistakable vertical taillamps.

The broad front grille and LED projector headlamps, inspired by the EV9, create a futuristic look. Star Map lighting elements add a unique touch, and the front and rear bumpers enhance the rugged appeal.

Inside, horizontal features and a panoramic curved display with dual 12.3-inch screens give the cabin a modern feel. New exterior color options, including Midnight Lake Blue and Dawning Red, add to the Sorento’s appeal.

Outdoor Adventures: X-Line and X-Pro

For an extra dose of rugged flair, the X-Line offers a center-locking differential, roof rack, and unique gloss-black front grille. The X-Pro takes it up a notch with 17-inch wheels for challenging trails and increased towing capacity. Both models feature earth-toned interior options like Olive Brown and Sage, with an enticing Jungle Green exterior.

Cutting-Edge Technology

The Sorento introduces Kia’s next-gen Connected Car Navigation Cockpit, ensuring faster processing and over-the-air updates. USB-C ports are conveniently located, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard. The advanced Digital Key 2.0 allows virtual vehicle keys on compatible devices.

The tech upgrades also include 10 standard ADAS features, such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA). New features like Smart Cruise Control-Machine Learning (SCC-ML) and Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA-2) enhance driver convenience.
