Alan Ritchson, best known for portraying Jack Reacher in the hit action series Reacher, has sparked fresh discussions about his potential as the next Batman.
While rumors previously linked him to James Gunn’s upcoming DC film, the 42-year-old actor personally shut down the speculation.
However, new insights from one of his Reacher co-stars suggest that Ritchson could be a perfect fit for the Dark Knight.
Roberto Montesinos, who plays DEA agent Guillermo Villanueva in the Amazon Prime series, recently shared his thoughts on why Ritchson embodies the essence of Batman.
“First of all, his work ethic, his research, and his command of a character are incredible,” Montesinos said in an interview with Screen Rant. He explained how Ritchson brings depth to his roles, referencing Reacher author Lee Child’s writing.
“In the books, when Reacher walks into a room, there are pages describing what he’s thinking. Alan has the ability to translate that inner dialogue into his expressions effortlessly.”
Montesinos also recalled a moment when Ritchson shared an insightful acting tip. “Alan told me, ‘Every movement of your eye indicates to the audience a new thought.’ That level of detail is rare,” he noted.
The Fast X and Zombie Farm actor went on to praise Ritchson’s potential as Batman, boldly stating, “I think he would be the best Batman we’ve ever had. We’ve had some great ones, but he could be the best yet.”
While Ritchson remains unattached to any official Batman project, he has previously expressed his enthusiasm for the role. In an interview, he even joked that he would play the Caped Crusader without taking a paycheck.
With growing support and his impressive action-hero credentials, could Alan Ritchson be the next Batman? Only time will tell.
With his commanding screen presence, deep understanding of character work, and a physique fit for Gotham’s protector, Alan Ritchson has all the makings of an excellent Batman. While no official casting news has surfaced, the growing support from fans and co-stars alike suggests he could be a strong contender for the role in the future.
Whether or not he dons the cape and cowl, Ritchson has already proven he has what it takes to bring complex and powerful characters to life.
