Alto Variant Discontinued, Set to Replace with Upgraded Version

Suzuki Pakistan is set to enhance its popular Alto lineup by discontinuing the base VX variant, making way for more feature-rich and safer models.

This decision highlights the company’s commitment to aligning with global safety standards, addressing long-standing consumer concerns, and offering vehicles with improved protection.

Alto VXR: Safety Gets a Major Boost

Industry insiders indicate that the Suzuki Alto VXR will receive significant safety enhancements. The most notable addition is the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), which is crucial for improved vehicle control and accident prevention.

Additional expected features include power windows, reinforced seatbelt designs, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and seatbelt reminders. These upgrades will significantly enhance the Alto’s safety profile, making it a more secure option for families in Pakistan.

Despite its strong presence in the hatchback market, the Alto has previously faced criticism for lacking modern safety features. However, Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) is taking proactive steps to address these concerns, ensuring the vehicle meets evolving consumer expectations.

Price Adjustments: A Reflection of New Features

PSMC has adjusted the prices of Alto variants in response to these upgrades. The revised prices are:

Suzuki Alto VXR MT: Rs 2,827,000 (increase of Rs 120,000)

Suzuki Alto VXR AGS: Rs 2,989,000 (increase of Rs 95,000)

Suzuki Alto VXL AGS: Rs 3,140,000 (increase of Rs 95,000)

The significant price hike for the Alto VXR MT suggests it will benefit the most from the safety upgrades. While PSMC has yet to release full specifications, these price adjustments clearly indicate a shift toward better-equipped models.

A Strategic Move to Meet Modern Consumer Expectations

This shift by PSMC reflects an industry-wide trend where manufacturers focus on enhancing safety and incorporating modern features to cater to consumer demands. With the introduction of ABS and other safety improvements, the Alto is set to maintain its stronghold in the Pakistani market while offering better value to buyers.

As PSMC unveils further details, both industry experts and potential customers eagerly await the impact of these changes. These safety enhancements will likely strengthen the Alto’s position as one of Pakistan’s most desirable and budget-friendly hatchbacks, providing greater peace of mind to consumers.
