Anna Camp is taking on double the challenge — and double the fun — in the fifth and final season of Netflix’s hit thriller You. At the show’s New York City premiere, Anna Camp shared her excitement with Page Six, revealing how much of a dream come true it was to portray twin sisters Raegan and Maddie Lockwood.
“Getting the chance to step into two completely different characters was such an exciting challenge,” Anna Camp said. “Learning two sets of lines, getting into two separate hair and makeup looks, and switching between two wardrobes — it was like living two lives at once, and I absolutely loved it.”
The Pitch Perfect star, 42, admitted she felt a wave of pride seeing her hard work pay off on screen. “When I finally sat down and watched the scene where I’m talking to myself, I thought, ‘Okay, Anna, you did that!’” Camp recalled, laughing. “It’s not every day you get to act opposite yourself, so I was a little proud.”
Although she couldn’t quite choose a favorite between the sweet and gentle Maddie or the more ruthless and cunning Raegan, Anna Camp said she found joy in embodying both. “They’re very fun in their own ways,” she explained. “Each sister brought out a different side of me as an actor, and that’s a rare gift.”
Of course, taking on two roles also led to some light-hearted moments. Camp joked about the first thing she asked when she got the call: “I said, ‘Wait a second, if I’m playing two characters, do I get double the salary?’ They laughed and said, ‘Nice try!’ But hey, I had to ask!”
