Anne Hathaway has been named “World’s Most Beautiful” for 2026 by People Magazine, marking a new milestone in a career spanning more than two decades in Hollywood.
Hathaway, known for roles in films such as The Devil Wears Prada and The Princess Diaries, reflected on her personal journey in an accompanying interview, saying she has not always felt confident about her appearance or public image.
The actress said she often struggled with self-expression earlier in her career and experienced periods of anxiety, particularly in social settings. She added that those feelings persisted into her late 30s before she gradually developed greater self-assurance.
“I spent years feeling awkward and unsure of myself,” she said, noting that communication challenges in her younger years sometimes made it difficult to express her ideas clearly, both personally and professionally.
Hathaway also spoke about past beauty and styling experiences, saying she often found it difficult to articulate what she wanted during hair and makeup sessions, leading to results that did not match her expectations. Over time, she said she learned to communicate more effectively by using visual references.
The actress, who stars in The Idea of You and upcoming projects including Mother Mary, also credited her husband, Adam Shulman, for providing steady support throughout her career and personal life.
Hathaway said she is currently managing a busy production schedule with several films in development, but added that having strong support at home has helped her maintain balance between work and family life.
The recognition adds to Hathaway’s long list of accolades, underscoring her continued prominence in the entertainment industry.
