Fresh images of Apple’s highly anticipated foldable smartphone, widely rumored to be called the Apple iPhone Ultra, have surfaced online, offering the clearest look yet at the company’s first foldable device ahead of its expected debut later this year.
The latest images, shared by technology leaker Sonny Dickson, show a dummy unit of the iPhone Ultra in both folded and unfolded positions. The images provide additional insight into the device’s design, which has previously been the subject of leaked CAD renders, case designs, and prototype models.
The dummy unit appears in a white finish, a color option that has been repeatedly mentioned in previous reports. According to Dickson, white could be the only color available at launch. However, industry speculation suggests Apple may also introduce a gray or black variant.
The newly leaked images reveal several notable design elements. When unfolded, the device features a large folding display with a front-facing selfie camera positioned in the upper-left corner of the screen. On the back, the smartphone houses a dual-camera system arranged horizontally within a rectangular camera island. The module also includes an LED flash and a microphone.
The volume buttons appear to be positioned along the upper side of the device, a design choice that differs from Apple’s traditional smartphone layout.
Reports also suggest that the iPhone Ultra may not include Apple’s Action Button, which debuted on recent iPhone Pro models. Instead, the foldable handset is rumored to rely on Touch ID for biometric authentication, moving away from the Face ID system that has become a standard feature across Apple’s premium smartphone lineup.
Apple has not officially confirmed the existence of the foldable device. However, industry analysts and supply chain reports have increasingly pointed to the launch of Apple’s first foldable iPhone in 2026.
The iPhone Ultra is expected to be unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 series, marking Apple’s entry into the rapidly growing foldable smartphone segment currently dominated by rivals such as Samsung Electronics and Huawei.
If launched as expected, the iPhone Ultra could represent one of Apple’s most significant hardware innovations in recent years as the company seeks to expand its premium smartphone portfolio and compete in the foldable device market.
