Apple TV+ and MLB Reveal August ‘Friday Night Baseball’ Schedule

Apple TV+ and Major League Baseball (MLB) have collaboratively unveiled the August 2023 schedule for “Friday Night Baseball.”

The exclusive content will be accessible to all Apple TV+ subscribers. The weekly games will feature renowned announcers, including Wayne Randazzo and Alex Faust for play-by-play commentary, Dontrelle Willis and Ryan Spilborghs as analysts, and sideline reporters Heidi Watney and Tricia Whitaker. Moreover, former MLB umpires Brian Gorman and Dale Scott will contribute their expertise in dissecting rules and calls. The game assignments for the announcers will be announced on a weekly basis.

The “Friday Night Baseball” studio show will continue to be hosted by Lauren Gardner and Siera Santos. Joining them as analysts will be former MLB players Xavier Scruggs and Matt Joyce, along with baseball journalist Russell Dorsey and betting analyst Claudia Bellofatto.

Apart from the live games, Apple TV+ subscribers can enjoy additional MLB-related content, such as the MLB Big Inning show that offers live look-ins and in-game highlights on weeknights. Other shows, including Countdown to First Pitch, MLB Daily Recap, and MLB This Week, are also part of the package. Furthermore, fans can access more MLB programming through the Apple TV app at no extra cost, such as condensed game recaps of “Friday Night Baseball,” classic games, highlights, and interviews.

The exclusive games will only be available on Apple TV+ throughout the regular season. There will be no local broadcast restrictions for fans in 60 countries and regions, who can look forward to two marquee matchups over 25 weeks. Subscribing to Apple TV+ costs $6.99 (U.S.) per month, and new subscribers are offered a seven-day free trial period to experience the service.
