Asif Sumsum Elected Chairman of ABAD for 2023-2024 Term

Karachi, September 30, 2023 – The Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) has elected Asif Sumsum, a prominent builder and developer, as its chairman for the term 2023-2024.

The election took place unanimously, underscoring the confidence and support of ABAD members in Asif Sumsum’s leadership.

Asif Sumsum has previously served as the Chairman of ABAD’s Southern Region, demonstrating his dedication and experience within the organization.

During the Annual General Meeting held at ABAD House, Karachi, several other key positions were filled as well. Ibrahim Habib was elected as Senior Vice Chairman, Mustafa Sheikhani as Vice Chairman, and Zeeshan Siddiqui as Chairman of the Southern Region.

The new office-bearers of ABAD are set to assume their roles starting October 1, 2023.

Addressing the AGM, Mohsin Sheikhani, former chairman of ABAD and Patron In Chief of Allied Panel, extended a warm welcome to the newly elected office bearers. He commended the outgoing office bearers for their hard work and dedication in advancing the interests of ABAD members and contributing to the economic prosperity of the country, even in challenging circumstances. Sheikhani praised the unity of ABAD members and expressed optimism that they would continue to work together for the progress and prosperity of the nation.

In his remarks, newly elected Chairman Asif Sumsum expressed his gratitude to all ABAD members, particularly Mohsin Sheikhani, for electing the new ABAD team unanimously. He pledged to work tirelessly to address members’ concerns and improve ABAD, emphasizing that he would do so without discrimination. Sumsum also vowed to utilize all available resources to enhance the construction industry in Pakistan, under the wise leadership of Mohsin Sheikhani. He expressed hope that the unity demonstrated by ABAD members during the election would endure in the future.

The newly elected Senior Vice Chairman, Habib Ibrahim, Vice Chairman, Mustafa Sheikhani, and Chairman of the Southern Region, Zeeshan Siddiqui, also expressed their gratitude to ABAD members for their support. They promised to leave no stone unturned in resolving issues faced by ABAD members and furthering the development of the construction industry.

Outgoing Chairman of ABAD, Altaf Tai, acknowledged the challenges faced by the organization during a turbulent period. He expressed confidence that many of these issues would be resolved in the near future, thanks to the strong foundation laid on legal grounds. Tai pledged his continuous support to the new ABAD team and expressed hope that they would work diligently to address the problems and concerns of ABAD members.

Outgoing Senior Vice Chairman Khawar Munir, Vice Chairman Nadeem Jeewa, and Chairman of the Southern Region Raheel Rinch also expressed their appreciation for the cooperation of ABAD members.
