Economic Survey to be released on June 9 ahead of federal budget presentation in National Assembly on June 10

Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb will present the Pakistan Economic Survey 2025-26 on June 9, a day before unveiling the federal budget for fiscal year 2026-27, according to an announcement made on Thursday.

The confirmation was provided by Khurram Schehzad, adviser to the finance minister, who also stated that the federal budget for FY2026-27 will be presented before the National Assembly on June 10.

The Ministry of Finance and Revenue will release the Pakistan Economic Survey 2025-26 on June 9, offering a comprehensive review of the country’s economic performance during the outgoing fiscal year.

Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb is scheduled to present the survey, which is regarded as one of the government’s most important annual economic documents.

The Economic Survey serves as a detailed assessment of major economic indicators and sectoral performance, providing insights into growth trends and policy outcomes ahead of the federal budget announcement.

According to officials, the survey is expected to cover key areas including economic growth, fiscal developments, agriculture, industry, services, external trade, inflation, investment, employment and social sector performance during FY2025-26.

The report will also present data and analysis on macroeconomic developments, highlighting achievements and challenges faced by the economy over the past year.

A day after the survey’s release, Finance Minister Aurangzeb will present the federal budget for FY2026-27 in the National Assembly on June 10.

The budget is expected to outline the government’s fiscal strategy, revenue measures, taxation proposals, expenditure priorities and development plans for the upcoming financial year.

Economists, investors, businesses and policymakers are expected to closely examine both the Economic Survey and the federal budget for signals regarding economic trends, growth prospects and the government’s policy direction as Pakistan enters the new fiscal year.
