Badshah Khan Wazir Appointed as FBR’s Member Inland Revenue – Operations

Islamabad, August 3, 2023 – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced the appointment of Mir Badshah Khan Wazir as Member Inland Revenue (IR) – Operations, effective immediately.

In a notification released on Thursday, it was disclosed that Mir Badshah Khan Wazir, a seasoned BS-21 officer of the Inland Revenue Service (IRS), has been transferred and appointed as Member (IR-Operations). He previously served as Chief Commissioner of the Large Taxpayers Office in Lahore before taking on this new role.

Notably, Mir Badshah Khan Wazir has also been assigned the additional responsibility of the post of Member (IR-Policy) during the leave period of Afaque Ahmed Qureshi (IRS-BS21).

In a related announcement, Mehmood Hussain Jafri, another accomplished BS-21 IRS officer, currently holding the position of Chief Commissioner at the Regional Tax Office (RTO) in Lahore, has been entrusted with an additional role. He will now serve as Chief Commissioner-IR at the Large Taxpayers Office, Lahore, in accordance with the established rules.

The appointments come at a significant time for the FBR as it continues its efforts to streamline tax operations, boost revenue collection, and enhance tax compliance in the country.
