Bangladesh are gearing up for a busy international season with a scheduled tour to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) later this month.
The tour will feature a two-match T20 International series between Bangladesh and the UAE, with both fixtures set to be held at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium on May 17 and May 19. Each match will begin at 7:00 PM local time, promising exciting evening action for cricket fans in the region.
This tour marks a return encounter between the two sides, who last met in Dubai in September 2022. On that occasion, Bangladesh emerged victorious in both matches, securing a 2-0 series sweep. The upcoming series will offer the UAE national team a chance to test themselves once again against a Full Member opponent, while Bangladesh will look to build momentum ahead of a packed cricket calendar.
Following the UAE leg, Bangladesh will travel to Pakistan for a five-match T20I series as part of their preparations for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by Sri Lanka and India. This tour will also mark the return of international cricket to Faisalabad, where the first two T20Is will be played, with the remaining three fixtures taking place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. The Bangladesh squad is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on May 21, with the final match of the series set for June 3.
Subhan Ahmad, Chief Operating Officer of the Emirates Cricket Board, welcomed the upcoming tour, saying, “We are excited to host the Bangladesh Men’s team for another bilateral T20I series with the UAE. This series will be a valuable preparation opportunity for the UAE ahead of the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup.”
Bangladesh Cricket Board CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury expressed appreciation for the UAE Cricket Board’s efforts, stating, “We value our strong relationship with the UAE and look forward to competitive, high-quality cricket that will help us gear up for the challenges ahead.”
