Rupee ends down on import demand

KARACHI: The Pak Rupee ended down by eight paisas against dollar on Monday owing to higher demand of the greenback for import and corporate payments.




The rupee ended at Rs138.94 to the dollar from last Friday’s close of Rs138.86 in interbank foreign exchange market.

The interbank foreign exchange market was initiated in the range of Rs138.92 and Rs138.94.

The market recorded day high of Rs138.94 and low of Rs138.89 and closed at Rs138.94.

The exchange rate in open currency market was almost stable.

The buying and selling of dollar was recorded at Rs138.80/Rs139.20 from last Saturday’s close of Rs138.80/Rs139.30 in cash free market.
