Rupee makes gain for third consecutive day against dollar

KARACHI: The Pak Rupee made gain against dollar for the third consecutive day on Thursday owing to improved inflows of export receipts and workers’ remittances.

The rupee ended at Rs155.10 to the dollar from previous day’s closing of Rs155.14 in interbank foreign exchange market.

Currency experts said that the improved inflows of export receipts and workers’ remittances helped the rupee to gain against dollar.

The flow of positive news for Pakistan’s economy also helped the rupee to appreciate. The rupee fell on early this week on Monday but it gained continuously since Tuesday.

The exchange rage in open market also witnessed appreciation in rupee value. The buying and selling of dollar was recorded at Rs154.80/Rs15510 from last day’s closing of Rs155.00/Rs155.20 in cash ready market.
