Bata Pakistan says consolidation of Lahore manufacturing operations aims to improve efficiency, reduce costs and support export growth

Bata Pakistan Limited on Friday announced plans to consolidate its manufacturing operations into a single integrated production facility at Batapur, Lahore, as part of a broader strategy to improve operational efficiency and optimise production costs.

In a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company said its board of directors approved the consolidation during the 528th emergent board meeting held on May 22, 2026.

Under the plan, production operations currently carried out at the Maraka Factory on Multan Road, Lahore, will gradually be shifted to the Batapur Factory located on G.T. Road, Lahore.

The company said the move aligns with Bata Global’s wider strategic initiative to optimise manufacturing operations worldwide and adopt lean manufacturing practices across its production network.

Bata Pakistan stated that integrating the Maraka manufacturing facility into the Batapur plant is expected to improve operational efficiency, enhance productivity, achieve economies of scale and support long-term sustainable growth, including expansion into export markets.

The company added that the consolidation would also help it remain responsive to evolving business and economic conditions.

According to the company, the transition will be carried out in phases and is expected to be completed by July 30, 2026, subject to operational requirements and regulatory approvals where necessary.

Bata Pakistan said it does not anticipate any material adverse impact on its ability to meet customer demand and supply commitments during the transition period.

However, management expects the initiative to contribute positively toward operational efficiencies and long-term cost optimisation.
