Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez clash over mansion sale

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, once Hollywood’s power couple, are now caught in a standoff—not over love, but over real estate.

Following their finalized divorce earlier this year, the former couple is reportedly at odds over the fate of their $60 million Beverly Hills mansion, a symbol of their brief rekindled romance.

According to sources close to the situation, Lopez is holding firm on the home’s current asking price. Known for her business savvy and perfectionism, Lopez believes they can still fetch top dollar despite a cooling luxury market. “Jennifer thinks they can get more money for the home, so she wants to keep the price as is,” an insider told Us Weekly.

However, Ben seems to be taking a more pragmatic—and impatient—approach. “Ben wants to be done with the house. He sees it as a lingering tie to a chapter that’s now closed,” the source added. The actor is reportedly pushing to reduce the price in order to expedite the sale.

Originally listed in July 2024 for $68 million, the 38,000-square-foot estate has yet to find a buyer. Ben and Lopez purchased the home just a year earlier, shortly after their July 2022 wedding. They first attempted a quiet, off-market sale, but when that didn’t work, they made the listing public.

“Ben never felt at home in the mansion,” a second source shared. “The size of the property felt overwhelming, especially since he and Lopez didn’t have the kids around full-time. It always felt more like her dream home than his.”

The property, now more of a burden than a blessing, sits as a lavish reminder of what could have been. Lopez, ever the visionary, has already moved forward—relocating to a new $18 million home in a quieter part of Los Angeles.

As for Ben, insiders say he simply wants closure. He’s eager to sever any remaining financial and emotional ties to their shared past. But unless Lopez agrees to compromise, the mansion—and their disagreement—will remain unresolved.

For now, the house stands empty, caught between two very different post-divorce paths: Lopez’s optimism and Ben’s urgency to move on.
