Karachi, September 22, 2024 – In a resounding victory, the Businessmen Group (BMG) has once again secured a landmark win in the elections of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) for the 2024-26 term.
The BMG, under the leadership of Zubair Motiwala, dominated the elections, successfully securing all 30 seats up for grabs.
In a remarkable show of strength and support from the business and industrial community of Karachi, the BMG candidates garnered a total of 92,954 votes. This overwhelming number stands in stark contrast to the 21,613 votes received by the candidates of the opposing Businessmen Alliance (BMA). The stark difference in votes serves as a testament to the BMG’s unshakable hold on the Karachi business landscape.
Among the BMG victors, Jawed Bilwani stood out, securing the highest number of individual votes with an impressive tally of 3,148. In comparison, BMA’s candidate Saleem Kapadia managed to secure 794 votes. The provisional results announced after the elections solidified the BMG’s dominance and underscored their sustained influence within the KCCI.
The leadership of BMG, including Chairman Zubair Motiwala, Vice Chairmen Tahir Khaliq, Anjum Nisar, Jawed Bilwani, and Mian Abrar Ahmed, as well as General Secretary AQ Khalil and KCCI President Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, expressed their deep gratitude to the business and industrial community of Karachi for their continued support and confidence.
