KARACHI: In compliance of orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Clifton Cantonment has decided to start demolishing unauthorized constructions from March 10, 2020.
The cantonment finalized the plan to take action against unauthorized constructions in six different localities under its jurisdiction.
The Clifton Cantonment in an official notice said: “it is intimated that the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan has been pleased to direct the action regarding illegal construction raised against approved building plan and charge of land use in colonies namely P&T, Delhi, Punjab Colony and also demolition which are within territorial limits of District South Karachi.”
The action against illegal construction is scheduled to start from March 10 to March 31, 2020.
The cantonment also asked Inspector General Policy to provide sizeable police contingent, including female constables. The cantonment also wrote to district authorities to provide manpower and necessary equipment on the scheduled date and times.
