Businesseses must install functional CCTV cameras within one month or face legal action, including the sealing of commercial premises.

The Faisalabad City Police have made it mandatory for every commercial establishment to install Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras within one month, warning that businesses failing to comply will face strict legal action, including the sealing of their premises.

The directive applies to all categories of businesses operating across the city, ranging from small retail shops and grocery stores to large commercial outlets. The move is part of a broader security initiative aimed at strengthening public safety and improving crime prevention in Faisalabad.

One-Month Deadline for CCTV Installation

According to a police spokesperson, traders and shop owners have been granted a one-month period to complete the installation of functional CCTV surveillance systems. Once the deadline expires, authorities will launch a citywide inspection campaign to monitor compliance.

Officials warned that any commercial establishment found operating without a working CCTV camera after the specified period would be dealt with under the law. The enforcement measures may include sealing business premises and taking further legal action against violators.

Police Say Surveillance Will Improve Public Safety

Speaking on the initiative, City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain said the mandatory installation of CCTV cameras is intended to strengthen the city’s overall security framework. He explained that enhanced surveillance would help reduce incidents of robbery, theft, and harassment while ensuring better protection of citizens and the business community.

The CPO noted that digital surveillance would also enable police to respond more effectively to emergencies and provide valuable evidence during criminal investigations. He added that wider adoption of CCTV systems would significantly improve law enforcement’s ability to maintain peace and order across Faisalabad.

Traders Urged to Cooperate

Police authorities have urged traders and business owners to install CCTV cameras without delay to avoid legal consequences. They emphasized that cooperation from the business community is essential for creating a safer commercial environment and supporting collective efforts to curb criminal activities.

The police believe that expanding surveillance coverage throughout the city will not only deter potential offenders but also enhance public confidence by making commercial areas more secure for customers and businesses alike.
