Social media sightings of test units fuel speculation about the arrival of the sporty Changan Oshan X5 SUV in Pakistan.
Changan Pakistan is reportedly preparing to expand its sports utility vehicle (SUV) lineup with the possible introduction of the Changan Oshan X5, a compact crossover that has gained popularity in international markets for its sporty styling and advanced features.
Although the automaker has not made any official announcement regarding the launch, growing speculation has emerged following the appearance of several test units on Pakistani roads.
Images circulating on social media suggest that the company may be evaluating the vehicle for a potential local launch in the near future.
The Oshan X5, which is marketed globally as the Changan X5 Plus, is positioned below the larger Oshan X7 in the company’s SUV portfolio.
The vehicle is designed to appeal to buyers seeking a combination of performance, modern technology, and premium styling in the compact SUV segment.
Under the hood, the Oshan X5 is powered by Changan’s Blue Whale NE 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Depending on the variant, the powertrain delivers between 180 horsepower and 188 horsepower along with 300 Nm of peak torque.
The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), enabling brisk acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 7.5 seconds.
In terms of dimensions, the SUV measures 4,540 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, while offering a wheelbase of 2,715 mm. These proportions provide a spacious cabin and a comfortable driving experience for both city and highway use.
The Oshan X5 stands out with its aggressive exterior design. Key highlights include a large signature front grille, sleek LED headlights, sporty side skirts, dual chrome exhaust outlets, and stylish alloy wheels. The vehicle’s dynamic appearance is aimed at attracting younger buyers looking for a modern crossover.
Inside, the SUV features a premium cabin with carbon-fiber-style trim, a dual-tone maroon and black interior theme, and a panoramic sunroof.
Technology features include a 10.25-inch infotainment display, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and an advanced digital ecosystem with Rally Mode and Sports Plus functions that provide real-time driving data and enhanced steering response.
If launched, the Changan Oshan X5 could further intensify competition in Pakistan’s growing compact SUV market while offering consumers another feature-rich option in the segment.
