Changan Pakistan jacks up car prices as dollar continues historic journey

Changan Pakistan announced to increase car prices as dollar continues historic journey against Pakistani Rupee. The revised prices of Changan vehicles are effective from February 06, 2023.

The company was compelled to increase car prices due to the devaluation of local currency, uncertain economic conditions, and high inflation.

Rupee plummeted to the dollar on January 03, 2023 to make historic low at PKR 276.58 at closing of interbank foreign exchange market.

Currency experts believed that the dangerous low level of foreign exchange reserves and uncertainty over talks between the local authorities with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) further pressured the local currency.

However, the local currency on February 06, 2023 rebounded against the dollar and recovered PKR 1.28 to end at PKR 275.30.
