New Sportage AWD HEV offers more power, all-wheel-drive capability, enhanced comfort features, and updated dimensions for Pakistani buyers.
KIA Motors Pakistan has officially introduced the facelifted KIA Sportage lineup in Pakistan, marking a major update for one of the country’s most popular crossover SUVs.
Unlike the previous generation, the latest Sportage range is now available exclusively with hybrid powertrains, offering customers a choice between Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variants.
Among the newly launched models, the top-spec KIA Sportage AWD HEV stands out with several upgrades over the previous Sportage L FWD HEV.
While both vehicles are based on the same platform and share many design elements, the facelifted version introduces notable enhancements in performance, drivetrain capability, cabin comfort, and technology.
Improved Performance and AWD Capability
One of the most significant changes in the new Sportage AWD HEV is its upgraded powertrain.
The facelifted model produces a combined output of 235 horsepower and 368 Nm of torque, compared to 227 horsepower and 350 Nm in the outgoing Sportage L FWD HEV.
The drivetrain has also been upgraded from Front-Wheel Drive to All-Wheel Drive, providing improved traction and stability in various driving conditions. In addition, the new model features dedicated terrain modes for Snow, Mud, and Sand, offering greater versatility for drivers who frequently encounter challenging road conditions.
Enhanced Comfort and Interior Features
Inside the cabin, KIA has introduced several comfort-focused improvements. The previous top-spec Sportage L featured red seats, while the facelifted AWD HEV adopts a more premium black interior theme.
The new model also adds ventilated front seats alongside the existing heating function, enhancing passenger comfort during Pakistan’s hot summers. Memory seat functionality has also been included, allowing drivers to save and recall preferred seating positions.
Further upgrades include a redesigned two-spoke leather steering wheel and the addition of MID controls on the steering wheel, providing easier access to vehicle information and settings.
Slight Increase in Size
Dimensionally, the new Sportage AWD HEV is slightly larger than its predecessor. The facelifted SUV measures 4,685 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 1,660 mm in height, compared to 4,660 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 1,665 mm in height for the previous Sportage L.
With increased power, advanced AWD technology, upgraded comfort features, and refreshed styling, the KIA Sportage AWD HEV facelift offers a more refined and capable package for SUV buyers in Pakistan.
