Apple has released the official compatibility list for iOS 27, confirming which iPhone models will support the latest operating system unveiled at WWDC 2026 alongside macOS 27 “Golden Gate”, iPadOS 27, and watchOS 27.
According to the company, iOS 27 will be available for iPhone SE (2nd generation) and all newer iPhone models, including the iPhone 11 series and above. This means most devices already running iOS 26 will continue to receive the latest update.
The supported iPhone list includes:
iPhone SE (2nd generation and later) iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max
iPhone 12 series (mini, standard, Pro, Pro Max) iPhone 13 series (mini, standard, Pro, Pro Max)
iPhone 14 series (standard, Plus, Pro, Pro Max) iPhone 15 series (standard, Plus, Pro, Pro Max)
iPhone 16 series (including Pro and Pro Max variants) iPhone 17 series and newer models
iPhone Air and iPhone 16e variants
Apple said that while all supported devices will receive iOS 27, certain advanced features under Apple Intelligence, including upgraded Siri AI capabilities, will be limited to select newer iPhone models with more powerful processors.
The company also highlighted that iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and watchOS 27 will follow similar hardware compatibility patterns, focusing primarily on newer chipsets and Apple Silicon devices.
Apple typically rolls out stable iOS updates later in the year following beta testing with developers. Users with compatible devices will be able to upgrade through Settings once the public release becomes available.
With iOS 27, Apple continues its strategy of broad device support while gradually restricting high-end AI features to newer hardware, reinforcing its push toward on-device intelligence and performance-driven upgrades.
For users, the key takeaway is simple: if your iPhone is from the iPhone SE (2nd gen) or iPhone 11 era and newer, your device is eligible for the iOS 27 update.
