Chery Unveils Updated 2025 Tiggo 9 and Tiggo 9 C-DM

Chinese automaker Chery has officially launched the 2025 versions of its popular three-row SUVs, the Tiggo 9 and the Tiggo 9 C-DM, showcasing a range of upgrades that enhance both performance and design. These new models are expected to strengthen Chery’s position in the competitive SUV market.

The 2025 Tiggo 9 is available in five trims, with prices ranging between 152,900 and 203,900 yuan, equivalent to approximately $21,750 to $29,000 USD.

Meanwhile, the Tiggo 9 C-DM plug-in hybrid variant comes in two trims, priced between 165,900 and 175,900 yuan ($23,600 to $25,000 USD). Both variants are offered in configurations that accommodate either 5 or 7 passengers, catering to a range of customer preferences.

Despite holding a modest 9.20% market share in August 2024, the Tiggo 9 series has performed well for Chery. With cumulative sales of 33,183 units in the first eight months of the year, the Tiggo 9 ranks 58th in the SUV market in China, highlighting its steady popularity.

The exterior design of the 2025 Tiggo 9 has undergone significant updates, featuring a larger grille and more refined styling elements. Although the overall dimensions of the SUV remain consistent with previous models, Chery has introduced five new exterior color options, offering greater customization for buyers.

Powering the 2025 Tiggo 9 is Chery’s Kunpeng 2.0TGDI engine, which is paired with either a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT) or an 8-speed automatic transmission (8AT).

The Tiggo 9 C-DM variant, on the other hand, employs a plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.5TGDI engine with an electric motor. This hybrid system provides an impressive pure electric range of 106 kilometers (66 miles) under the CLTC cycle, making it a practical option for eco-conscious drivers.

Inside the cabin, both models retain the premium feel of their predecessors, boasting a sleek interior design with modern technology features. The centerpiece is a 24.6-inch dual-screen system, complemented by a 50-inch AR-HUD and advanced driver assistance technologies that enhance safety and convenience.

With their blend of style, performance, and technology, the 2025 Chery Tiggo 9 and Tiggo 9 C-DM are well-positioned to continue their success in China’s SUV market, offering buyers a compelling package at competitive prices.
