Dakota Johnson praised Taylor Swift’s directing skills and described their creative collaboration as “very symbiotic”.
Dakota Johnson has praised close friend Taylor Swift, calling the pop superstar a “true visionary” and an exceptional director.
Speaking to Extra on Wednesday, the 36-year-old actress discussed working with Swift on her music video Patient Zero, which also features Colin Farrell.
Johnson said the collaboration was particularly special because of their close friendship and shared creative approach.
“She’s such a good director and she’s a true visionary,” Johnson said, adding that working together allowed them to “feed each other’s creative minds”.
The Fifty Shades of Grey star described their professional relationship as natural and mutually supportive.
“It was very symbiotic the way that we work,” she said.
Johnson’s latest comments follow her appearance on BBC Radio 1’s The Greg James Show, where she spoke about her friendship with Swift and their wide-ranging conversations.
“Taylor and I are really good friends, and we talk a lot about everything, everything on the planet,” Johnson said.
She revealed that true crime is among the topics they frequently discuss and praised Swift’s imagination and creativity.
“She’s a genius person, and if you talk about world-building, I think the inside of her mind is this miraculous, intricate wonderland,” Johnson said.
Johnson also recalled readily accepting Swift’s invitation to join the project.
“And so, she asked if I would do this, and of course, I’ll do anything with her; she’s the most fun,” she said.
Her remarks highlight the close friendship between the two stars and their enthusiasm for working together on creative projects.
