Deepal K50 Hunter enters Pakistan with a much lower price, while the BYD Shark 6 offers stronger acceleration and higher torque.
The Pakistani pickup market is entering a new phase with the arrival of advanced electrified models. Changan Pakistan has launched the Deepal K50 Hunter REEV, introducing a range-extended electric pickup at a significantly lower price than the BYD Shark 6 PHEV.
The Deepal K50 Hunter is priced at Rs10.99 million ex-factory, while the BYD Shark 6 carries an ex-factory price of Rs19.95 million. This substantial price gap could become one of the Hunter’s biggest advantages in attracting Pakistani buyers.
Exterior Design Comparison
From the exterior, the Deepal K50 Hunter adopts a futuristic and technology-focused appearance. Its front features a large, intricate grille design with vertically positioned lighting elements, giving the pickup a distinctive road presence. The sharp bonnet lines, sculpted body panels and modern alloy wheels further strengthen its contemporary character.
The BYD Shark 6 takes a more traditional rugged-pickup approach. Its broad front fascia features a prominent BYD grille, squared-off LED headlights and a muscular bumper. Black cladding around the wheel arches, large wheels and a visible rear sports bar give it a tougher, adventure-oriented appearance.
In simple terms, the Deepal K50 Hunter looks more futuristic, while the BYD Shark 6 appears more rugged and conventional. The choice may therefore depend on whether buyers prefer a modern urban design or an aggressive off-road-inspired look.
Performance Comparison
The Deepal K50 Hunter uses a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine as a generator, with dual electric motors delivering 322 hp and 529 Nm. Its 31.18 kWh LFP battery provides a claimed 131 km pure-electric range, while the combined range is listed at 700–900 km.
The BYD Shark 6 uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged hybrid system with a 29.58 kWh Blade Battery. Its dual electric motors and engine produce a combined 321 kW and 650 Nm, enabling a much quicker 0–100 km/h time of 5.7 seconds, compared with 7.9 seconds for the Hunter.
Which Pickup Could Win?
The Deepal K50 Hunter has the stronger price advantage, while the Shark 6 offers superior acceleration and torque. For Pakistan, however, the Hunter’s nearly Rs9 million lower price could make it a particularly compelling option for buyers seeking an electrified pickup without entering the premium price bracket.
