Dollar retreats by 94 paisas in interbank

KARACHI: The dollar retreated by 94 paisas against the dollar on Thursday after making record high a day earlier.

The dollar recorded the-time-high of Rs169.12 in the interbank foreign exchange market.

The Pak Rupee (PKR) ended at Rs168.18 to the dollar from previous day’s closing of Rs169.12 in the interbank foreign exchange market.

Market sources said that dollar inflows were seen during the day. They believed that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) had intervened to support the local currency.

The demand of the greenback remained high during the day for import payments.
