Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) market continues to expand with the official launch of the Dongfeng Box EV, brought in by Chawala Green Motors.
This compact 5-door electric hatchback is now available in two variants – the LUX 430 and the top-end Flagship 430 – offering eco-friendly mobility with premium features and solid performance.
Pricing and Availability in Pakistan
The Dongfeng Box EV has been launched with the following price tags:
LUX 430: Rs 6,400,000
Flagship 430: Rs 6,800,000
Customers can book the vehicle with a deposit of Rs 1,500,000. If the chosen colour is in stock, same-day delivery is possible. Otherwise, the waiting period ranges between 40 to 50 days.
Power, Range, and Charging
Underneath, the Dongfeng Box EV is equipped with a 42.3 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a range of up to 430 km on a single charge. Powered by a 70 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, the car reaches speeds of up to 140 km/h through its front-wheel drive (FWD) system.
Charging is versatile with a 6.6 kW AC charger (Type 2 Euro standard) and DC fast charging, which enables an 80% recharge in just 30 minutes. It also comes with a 4-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty and 8-year/200,000 km battery warranty.
Design and Interior Features
With dimensions of 4,030mm (L), 1,810mm (W), and 1,570mm (H) on a 2,660mm wheelbase, the hatchback offers decent cabin space. The LUX 430 variant has R16 wheels, while the Flagship 430 features R17 aluminium alloy wheels.
Inside, both variants offer a 5-inch LCD instrument cluster and 8-inch infotainment display, along with Bluetooth, wireless charging, and 32-colour ambient lighting. The Flagship version adds heated and ventilated driver’s seats and Rest Mode.
Safety and ADAS
Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and TPMS. The Flagship 430 further enhances safety with ADAS, including Adaptive Cruise Control, 540° camera, Auto Parking, AEB, Lane Keep Assist, and more.
