Drake has surpassed The Temptations and Future to become the artist with the most Number 1 albums on the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, following the success of Habibti.
Drake has made music history by securing a record-breaking 18th Number 1 album on the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, overtaking legendary Motown group The Temptations and rapper Future.
The Canadian rapper achieved the milestone with Habibti, which returned to the top of the chart following the release of its deluxe edition, Habibti (FOMO). The expanded version features four additional tracks, taking the album’s total track list beyond its original 11 songs.
The achievement places Drake ahead of The Temptations and Future, who have each secured 17 Number 1 albums on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart.
The Temptations, renowned for classic hits such as My Girl, released in 1964, and Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me), from 1971, had held or shared the chart record since July 1966.
Released in May 2026, Habibti has also performed strongly on other album charts. It reached Number 2 on the overall US Billboard 200 and peaked at Number 7 on the UK Albums Chart.
Following Drake, Jay-Z has recorded 14 Number 1 albums on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, while Kanye West, who now goes by Ye, has achieved 13. R. Kelly follows with 12 chart-topping albums.
Drake’s latest achievement further strengthens his position among the most successful artists in contemporary hip-hop, reflecting his sustained commercial appeal and ability to attract listeners through new releases and expanded editions.
Meanwhile, the rapper has announced plans for a world tour in 2027, adding to anticipation among fans for his upcoming live performances.
Speculation has also emerged over a possible headline performance at the Coachella Festival in April 2027. However, a potential appearance at the festival remains unconfirmed.
Drake’s record-breaking chart performance comes as the artist continues to build on his extensive catalogue of commercially successful releases, with Habibti delivering another milestone in his career.
