Lahore, March 27, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast predominantly dry weather across most regions of Punjab over the next 24 hours.
While some areas may experience brief showers, dry conditions will persist in the majority of districts.
According to the PMD, a westerly wave that has been affecting the upper parts of the country is expected to weaken by tonight, reducing the chances of widespread rainfall in Punjab. As a result, dry weather is likely to dominate across the province, particularly in central and southern districts.
Weather Forecast for Thursday
The PMD predicts that most districts of Punjab will experience mainly dry weather throughout the day. However, certain areas, particularly in the northern parts of the province, may receive scattered rain accompanied by windstorms and thunderstorms. These areas include Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Sialkot, and Narowal, where brief showers are possible. Additionally, partly cloudy conditions with chances of rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected in Kashmir, Murree, Galliyat, and surrounding areas.
Weather Forecast for Friday
The trend of dry weather will continue on Friday, with most districts of Punjab remaining rain-free. However, partly cloudy conditions with the possibility of light rain and thunderstorms may persist in Murree, Galliyat, and nearby hilly regions, as well as some parts of Kashmir.
Impact of Dry Conditions in Punjab
The prolonged spell of dry weather in Punjab could have mixed effects. On one hand, it may benefit ongoing harvesting activities in the agricultural heartland of the province, particularly for wheat crops nearing maturity. On the other hand, the absence of rainfall could lead to increased dust and pollen levels, potentially aggravating allergies and respiratory issues among residents.
With no significant rain expected in Punjab, temperatures may rise gradually, especially in central and southern districts. Authorities have advised farmers and the general public to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions against dry weather conditions.
