Dry Weather to Prevail Across Pakistan

Islamabad, March 5, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that mainly dry weather will persist across most regions of Pakistan on Wednesday.

However, hilly areas will continue to experience very cold conditions, particularly during the early morning and nighttime hours.

In addition to the dry conditions, gusty winds are expected in several plain areas, including regions of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan. These strong winds may bring temporary dust storms in some locations, particularly in southern and central Pakistan.

Regional Weather Outlook

In the federal capital, Islamabad, the weather will remain predominantly dry and cold. Gusty winds may be observed at times, creating a brisk and chilly environment.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will witness dry and cold weather in most districts. However, upper regions such as Kalam, Malam Jabba, and Parachinar will continue to experience extremely cold conditions, especially during the nighttime, with temperatures dropping significantly.

Punjab is expected to remain dry, with gusty winds prevailing across various districts. In Murree and Galliyat, very cold conditions are likely during the early morning and nighttime, accompanied by strong winds, making the weather feel even colder.

Sindh will also experience dry weather, with the likelihood of gusty winds affecting several districts, including Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur. The combination of dry conditions and strong winds may lead to increased dust in the atmosphere.

Balochistan will see predominantly dry weather, though northern districts such as Quetta and Ziarat will face colder conditions, especially after sunset. Winds could enhance the feeling of cold, making it advisable for residents to take precautions.

Meanwhile, in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, the weather will remain cold and dry throughout the day. Freezing temperatures are expected in the morning and night hours, particularly in Skardu, Astore, and Leh.

Recent Weather Developments

Over the past 24 hours, Pakistan experienced a mix of rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in some regions. Areas such as Kashmir, Upper and Central Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan saw precipitation, while the rest of Pakistan remained dry and cold.
