Star-studded festivities in Palermo draw celebrity guests as newlyweds continue celebrations after London wedding
Pop superstar Dua Lipa and actor Callum Turner have commenced an extravagant three-day wedding celebration in Sicily, welcoming approximately 200 guests to one of the island’s most historic palaces for the opening event.
The couple, who reportedly tied the knot in London last weekend, arrived at the historic Palazzo Valguarnera Gangi in Palermo to applause from family members and friends. The newlyweds acknowledged guests with raised hands before sharing a kiss as they entered the venue.
Turner was seen embracing his wife affectionately as the pair made their way through the palace grounds, greeting attendees and posing for photographs throughout the evening.
For the occasion, Dua Lipa wore an elegant open-back white crochet gown featuring a feathered train, complemented by a matching Hermès handbag. She completed her look with loose curls and gold accessories.
The celebration attracted a high-profile guest list from the entertainment industry, including actor Joe Alwyn, singer Charli XCX, musician George Daniel and producer Mark Ronson.
Guests gathered in the palace courtyard ahead of the couple’s arrival, where canapés and refreshments were served. Traditional Mediterranean décor, including bowls of olives and regional floral arrangements, adorned the reception area.
The opening evening was held at Palazzo Valguarnera Gangi, a landmark Sicilian residence renowned internationally for its appearance in the classic film The Leopard, particularly its celebrated ballroom sequence.

Italian media estimate the three-day festivities could cost as much as €1.5 million. Local reports indicate that approximately €10,000 was spent securing exclusive use of the gallery venue, with additional expenditures allocated for enhanced security measures throughout Palermo.
The celebrations are expected to conclude in the nearby town of Bagheria at the historic Villa Valguarnera, an estate long associated with Sicily’s aristocratic heritage.
