Dwayne Johnson praised Regina Hall after her casting was confirmed in Benny Safdie’s upcoming film.

Dwayne Johnson has shared his excitement after Regina Hall joined the cast of the upcoming live-action and CGI hybrid film Lizard Music.

On July 27, Deadline reported that Hall had joined the Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists project, which is being written and directed by Benny Safdie.

Johnson has now reacted to the casting news, taking to Instagram to reshare the Deadline report and praise his new co-star.

“I’m a huge fan and such an admirer of this woman’s commanding acting talents and her beautiful humanity — I can’t wait to work with her,” Johnson wrote.

“And become best friends. This’ll be a wild one for sure. @morereginahall. Lizard Music. Written & Directed by Benny Safdie,” he added.

What is Lizard Music about?

Lizard Music follows a boy named Leber, who is left to his own devices before discovering a mysterious late-night broadcast featuring lizards playing otherworldly music.

His discovery leads him through a hidden door into an extraordinary world. As Leber searches for answers, he encounters an eccentric and whimsical old man known as The Chicken Man, played by Johnson.

The Chicken Man is accompanied by his beloved pet chicken, Claudia, who is 111 years old.

The unusual premise combines fantasy, comedy and adventure, with the story based on Daniel Pinkwater’s novel of the same name.

Regina Hall’s role in Lizard Music

According to media reports, Hall will portray The Chicken Man’s friend and co-worker.
