Parliamentarians and provincial assembly members must submit Form-B declarations covering their own, spouses’ and dependent children’s assets and liabilities for the 2025-26 financial year.
Islamabad, November 6, 2026: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has directed members of Parliament and provincial assemblies to submit their annual statements of assets and liabilities by December 31, 2026, warning that failure to meet the deadline could result in suspension of membership.
In a notification, the ECP reminded lawmakers that submitting declarations covering their own assets and liabilities, as well as those of their spouses and dependent children, is mandatory under Section 137 of the Elections Act, 2017.
The statements must reflect financial positions as of June 30, 2026, for the financial year 2025-26 and be submitted on the prescribed Form-B.
Under Section 137, the ECP will publish the names of lawmakers who fail to submit their declarations by December 31 through a press release on January 1, 2027.
Furthermore, members who do not file their statements by January 15 will face suspension of membership through an ECP order issued on January 16. Such members will cease to function until they submit the required declarations.
The law also provides for proceedings against lawmakers who submit statements found to be materially false. Such cases may be pursued as offences of corrupt practice within 120 days of submission.
The ECP said prescribed Form-B documents, along with relevant instructions and guidelines, are available free of cost from the Election Commission Secretariat in Islamabad, offices of Provincial Election Commissioners, the Senate Secretariat, National Assembly Secretariat and provincial assembly secretariats.
Lawmakers can also download the form from the ECP’s official website.
The annual disclosure requirement aims to promote transparency and accountability by ensuring elected representatives declare their financial interests and those of their immediate dependants.
