Ed Sheeran Says He May Step Away From Music After LOOP Tour

Entertainment

Ed Sheeran has hinted that he could take another extended break from music after completing his ongoing LOOP Tour, telling fans he plans to focus on family life once the global trek concludes.

The British singer-songwriter made the comments during a concert in Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday night, where he paused his performance to address the crowd.

“This is gonna be my last time here in a while,” Sheeran told concertgoers. “I might take some time off once this tour has ended and sort of do the dad thing.”

The remarks immediately sparked speculation among fans about the singer’s future plans following one of the most extensive touring schedules of his career.

Ed Sheeran Prioritizes Family Time

Sheeran, who shares two children with his wife, Cherry Seaborn, suggested that spending more time with his family is a priority once his current tour commitments are complete.

“If I don’t see you for a while, I love you, thank you for coming,” the singer added before resuming the show.

The comments indicate that the Grammy-winning artist may temporarily step back from recording and touring activities after fulfilling his remaining concert dates.

Not the First Career Break

A potential hiatus would not be unprecedented for Sheeran.

The singer previously took a break from the spotlight in 2015 following the success of his Multiply album and accompanying tour. He also stepped away from music between 2019 and 2021 after concluding his record-breaking Divide era.

During those periods, Sheeran largely focused on his personal life before returning with new music and touring projects.

LOOP Tour Continues Through 2026

The LOOP Tour began in January and is scheduled to continue across North America over the coming months.

Sheeran’s U.S. dates are expected to conclude in Florida in November before the tour wraps up with its final performance in Mexico on December 12, 2026.

The singer has not announced any formal retirement plans, and his comments suggest only a temporary pause rather than a permanent departure from the music industry.

Still, the prospect of another hiatus marks a significant update for fans, many of whom have followed Sheeran through more than a decade of chart-topping albums and sold-out world tours.

For now, the artist remains focused on completing the LOOP Tour before deciding on his next chapter, one that may involve less time on stage and more time at home with his family.
