Attock Petroleum posts 21 percent decline in after tax profit

KARACHI: Attock Petroleum Limited has posted 21 percent decline in its after tax profit to Rs1.22 billion for the quarter ended September 30, 2019 as compared with Rs1.54 billion in the corresponding quarter of the last year.

The company declared earning per share at Rs12.31 for the quarter under review as compared with Rs15.55 in the same quarter of the last year, according to financial results announced and notified to Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday.

The profit before tax of the company fell to Rs1.75 billion for the period July – September 2019 as compared with Rs2.12 billion in the same quarter of the last year.

Total sales of Attock Petroleum Limited grew to Rs69.318 billion for the quarter ended September 30, 2019 as compared with Rs67.34 billion in the same period of the last year. The payment of sales tax and other government levies for the quarter under review increased to Rs10.11 billion as compared with Rs9.69 billion in the same period last year.

The operating expenses, however, reduced to Rs557.88 million from Rs689 million.

The associated companies of Attock Petroleum Limited have shown loss of Rs133.6 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2019 as compared with profit of Rs1.6 million in the same period of the last year.
