Apple fans can mark their calendars as the highly anticipated iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to be unveiled between September 11 and 13, according to multiple media reports.
This premium addition to the iPhone lineup is already creating waves with rumours about design changes, pricing, and next-gen performance.
In the UAE, the iPhone 16 Pro Max launched with a price tag of Dh5,099. While enthusiasts are hoping the iPhone 17 Pro Max will maintain a similar price point, speculation hints at a possible price revision. This could be driven by the introduction of a new ultra-premium model, possibly named the iPhone 17 ‘Air’, which may position itself above the Pro Max in terms of pricing and features.
Interestingly, conflicting reports have surfaced, suggesting the iPhone 17 Pro Max might start as low as Dh3,399 — a surprising drop that, if accurate, could make the phone more accessible while shaking up Apple’s traditional pricing strategy.
Design-wise, Apple appears to be steering the iPhone 17 Pro Max in a bold new direction. Leaks suggest a fresh aesthetic overhaul, particularly on the rear casing. The tech giant is rumored to be introducing a hybrid construction, merging glass and aluminium to increase both elegance and durability.
Another expected upgrade is the camera system. Reports point toward a redesigned camera layout, possibly horizontal, moving away from the square bump seen in previous Pro models. The triple-lens system may either span the back in a linear arrangement or be embedded in a broader, centered housing.
Despite the cosmetic updates, Apple is likely to retain the display sizes introduced last year — 6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Under the hood, performance will see a leap forward with the introduction of the A19 Pro chip, built on a cutting-edge 3-nanometer process. This next-gen chip is expected to significantly boost processing power and energy efficiency, solidifying the iPhone 17 Pro Max as one of the most powerful smartphones of 2025.
