FBR allocates Rs377 million for vehicle fuel in FY2026-27

Annual procurement plan earmarks nearly Rs394 million for fuel, alongside spending on office repairs, machinery and administrative operations

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has allocated Rs377.03 million for the purchase of fuel for its vehicle fleet during the fiscal year 2026-27, according to its Annual Procurement Plan prepared under the Public Procurement Rules, 2004.

The procurement plan identifies “POL for Vehicles” as one of the FBR’s largest recurring operational expenditures for the current financial year. The procurement will be carried out in accordance with the government’s prescribed procurement procedures, with the procurement notice scheduled for publication on July 20, 2026, the tentative contract award expected on August 20, 2026, and completion targeted by June 30, 2027.

According to the plan, the FBR has also earmarked an additional Rs17 million for Petrol, Oil and Lubricants (POL) to operate generators, bringing the tax authority’s total planned expenditure on fuel to approximately Rs394 million during FY2026-27.

Operational expenditure

The Annual Procurement Plan outlines several other operational expenditures required to support the FBR’s nationwide tax administration and enforcement activities.

Among the major allocations are:

• Rs68.75 million for the repair and maintenance of office buildings;

• Rs36.3 million for the operation of stores;

• Rs26 million for the repair of machinery and equipment;

• Rs25 million for miscellaneous procurement;

• Rs20.2 million for computer stationery;

• Rs19.53 million for office stationery; and

• Rs12.5 million for foreign delegation visits.

The procurement schedule also includes allocations for uniforms and protective equipment, vehicle maintenance and repairs, furniture and fixture maintenance, courier services, transportation of goods, hardware repairs, office publications and various other administrative requirements.

According to the procurement plan, most tenders are expected to be initiated during July and August 2026, with procurement activities continuing throughout the financial year and concluding by June 30, 2027.

The FBR said the Annual Procurement Plan has been prepared on the basis of approved budgetary allocations and provides a roadmap for acquiring the goods and services necessary to support its operational, administrative and tax collection functions during FY2026-27.
