FBR Issues Operation Plan for Pakistan Customs During Eid ul Azha Holidays

Islamabad, June 21, 2023: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has released an operation plan for Pakistan Customs during the upcoming Eid ul Azha holidays.

In a notification sent to all Customs stations and directorates, the FBR announced that all field formations will remain open on Saturday, June 24, 2023, and Sunday, June 25, 2023, for the purpose of duty and tax collection.

To ensure efficient trade facilitation and optimal revenue collection, the field formations will also observe extended working hours until 9:00 PM from June 24, 2023, until the beginning of the Eid holidays. This step aims to accommodate the clearance of cargo during the festive season.

Furthermore, in order to maintain seamless operations, suitable staff members will be available to handle the clearance of cargo during the Eid ul Azha holidays. Additionally, the field formations will remain open until midnight on June 30, 2023.

The FBR has also advised the chief collectors to establish effective communication channels with the State Bank of Pakistan and authorized branches of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on the same date. This will help ensure accurate accounting and proper collection of funds for the month of June 2023.

By issuing this operation plan, the FBR aims to streamline customs operations during the Eid ul Azha holidays, promote trade facilitation, and maximize revenue collection.
