ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched software for conducing online hearing in audit and assessment cases, a FBR spokesman said on Tuesday.
The spokesman said that system for the e-hearing in audit and assessment cases had been activated at the IRIS portal.
This system will link the FBR offices with the persons at their places in real-time. The spokesman said that the hearing would be recorded and would be used for other legal matters.
The spokesman further said that the module had been implemented at Large Taxpayers Office (LTO) Islamabad, Regional Tax Office (RTO) Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Peshawar. In second phase this module will be implemented at other regional tax offices.
Chief Commissioners of Inland Revenue have been asked to ensure installation of the requirement equipment by May 31, 2021 for implementation of the online hearing.
The spokesman said that the FBR head office had been authorized to join at any time of online hearing.
After the implementation taxpayers would no more require to visit tax offices for hearing in audit and assessment cases.
The FBR said that from July 01, 2021 all the physical hearing would not take place.
