Saadia Sadaf Gilani will take charge as Director General of Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue from October 1, 2026, as FBR reshuffles senior IRS officers.
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has appointed Saadia Sadaf Gilani, a BS-22 officer of the Inland Revenue Service (IRS), as Director General of the Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation (Inland Revenue), Islamabad.
According to the FBR notification, Saadia Sadaf will assume charge of her new assignment with effect from October 1, 2026. She is currently serving as Member, FBR (HQ), Islamabad.
The Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation (Inland Revenue) is responsible for functions including broadening the tax base, accessing and cross-matching data, handling tax-related complaints and conducting financial investigations into potential revenue losses.
Major reshuffle of senior IRS officers
In another administrative move, the FBR has transferred Aqeel Ahmed Siddiqui, a BS-21 IRS officer, to the position of Member (Admin/HR), FBR Headquarters, Islamabad.
Aqeel Ahmed is currently serving as Director General of the Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation (Inland Revenue), Islamabad.
The FBR has also posted Muhammad Yasir Pirzada, a BS-20 IRS officer, as Director General, National Faceless Centre, FBR, Islamabad.
Yasir Pirzada has been transferred from his existing position as Director General (Taxpayers Services), FBR Headquarters.
He has also been assigned the additional charge of Director General (Taxpayers Services).
The National Faceless Centre is part of the FBR’s ongoing move towards technology-based tax administration, including electronic handling of notices, responses, audits and assessments.
Performance allowance to continue
The FBR clarified that officers who were drawing performance allowance before issuance of the notification will continue to receive the allowance at their new places of posting.
The officers concerned have been directed to relinquish or assume charge through the FBR’s online Human Resource Management System (HRMS) or by using their Individual User Portal (IJP) logins.
The latest postings form part of the FBR’s administrative restructuring involving senior officers of the Inland Revenue Service.
The Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation (Inland Revenue) continues to play a role in detecting tax evasion and fraud, with its field formations undertaking investigations and enforcement actions under relevant tax laws.
