Inland Revenue offices across Pakistan will remain open until 8pm on Saturday to facilitate tax payments ahead of the Tax Year 2026 income tax return deadline.
Islamabad, October 27, 2026: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed its Inland Revenue (IR) field offices to remain open with extended working hours on Saturday, October 31, 2026, to facilitate taxpayers in making payments ahead of the income tax return filing deadline.
October 31 is the deadline for filing income tax returns for Tax Year 2026.
According to an official communication addressed to chief commissioners of Inland Revenue, the FBR has instructed all Large Taxpayer Offices (LTOs), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs) and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) to observe extended working hours on Saturday.
The offices will remain operational until 8:00pm to help taxpayers complete their tax payments within the prescribed deadline.
Saturday is a weekly holiday; however, the decision to keep tax offices open reflects the FBR’s efforts to facilitate income tax return filers and provide additional time for payment-related activities.
The arrangement is intended to help taxpayers facing difficulties in completing their payments before the deadline and support timely compliance with income tax requirements.
Taxpayers are encouraged to complete their return filing and payment formalities within the stipulated time to avoid potential complications associated with late compliance.
The FBR has instructed the relevant field formations to ensure implementation of the extended working hours on October 31.
