Exports of Pakistani footballs surge over 18% in volume as international demand strengthens ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Pakistan’s football exports recorded strong growth during the fiscal year 2025-26, with export earnings reaching Rs72 billion, reflecting rising international demand for sports goods manufactured in the country.

According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the country exported 4,705 units of footballs during FY2025-26. Export earnings stood at $256.72 million, compared with $229.78 million recorded in the previous fiscal year.

The latest figures indicate a significant improvement in Pakistan’s football export sector, which remains one of the country’s most recognized sports goods industries.

Export volume increased by 18.45 percent, while export value in rupee terms rose by 12.19 percent and in dollar terms by 11.72 percent compared with FY2024-25.

During the preceding fiscal year 2024-25, Pakistan exported 3,972 units of footballs worth Rs64.2 billion.

The latest increase demonstrates the sector’s resilience and growing competitiveness in international markets despite global economic uncertainties and supply chain challenges.

Industry experts believe that the FIFA World Cup 2026 has played an important role in boosting demand for footballs worldwide.

Pakistan, particularly the city of Sialkot, is internationally recognized for producing high-quality hand-stitched footballs and has long been a major supplier for global sporting events.

The growth in exports also highlights the strength of Pakistan’s sports goods manufacturing industry, which continues to contribute valuable foreign exchange earnings to the national economy.

Rising demand from North America, Europe, and other international markets has supported export expansion during the fiscal year.

Analysts suggest that if manufacturers continue to improve product quality, adopt advanced production techniques, and explore new export destinations, the football sector could witness further growth in the coming years.

The momentum generated by preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026 may provide additional opportunities for Pakistani exporters to expand their global market share.

The latest PBS data underscores Pakistan’s strong position in the global football manufacturing industry and reflects the sector’s potential to drive export-led economic growth.
