KARACHI: The official website of ministry of finance http://finance.gov.pk/ is still showing Asad Umar as Finance Minister despite the assumption of charge by Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh as adviser to prime minister on finance and revenue.
Asad Umar has tendered his resignation on April 18, 2019 from the post of finance minister. The next day on the advice of the prime minister the president of Pakistan accepted the resignation.
On April 19, 2019 the Prime Minister Office issued notification to appoint Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh as adviser to prime minister on finance and revenue with the status of Finance Minister.
Dr. Hafeez Shaikh assumed the charge on April 20 and issued statement, which was also reported on the official twitter and Facebook account of the finance ministry.
Yet the official website of the finance ministry was not updated the finance minister till filing this news post (at 01:53AM April 21, 2019) and showing Asad Umar as finance minister along with displaying his photo.
