The schedule for the first two weeks of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season was unveiled by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
From March 22, 2024, to April 7, 2024, cricket enthusiasts will witness 21 exhilarating matches spanning across 10 vibrant cities. Each participating team is slated to engage in a minimum of three encounters and a maximum of five.
The 17th edition of this prestigious tournament will inaugurate with a clash between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and perennial contenders Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday.
The opening weekend promises a double dose of cricketing excitement with two back-to-back encounters. On Saturday, Punjab Kings will lock horns with Delhi Capitals at the PCA New Stadium in Mullanpur, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders facing off against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Sunday’s action will unfold at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, where Rajasthan Royals will challenge the newly formed Lucknow Super Giants, while Gujarat Titans, the reigning champions and finalists of the previous season, will confront five-time winners Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Notably, the Delhi Capitals have opted to commence their campaign with two home fixtures in Visakhapatnam. They will commence their home run against the Chennai Super Kings on March 31 and subsequently clash with the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 3 at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium.
