Ghandhara Automobiles is waiting for the new auto policy before introducing upcoming models, while Ghandhara Industries plans to upgrade its D-Max pickup with advanced driver assistance technology within six months.
Ghandhara Automobiles Limited (GAL) has postponed the launch of its T9 Hunter Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) and other upcoming models until the government finalises its new automobile policy.
Meanwhile, Ghandhara Industries Limited (GHNI) is preparing to introduce Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in its Isuzu D-Max pickup within the next six months as part of its product enhancement strategy.
The developments were disclosed during corporate briefing sessions held by the management of both companies on Wednesday, according to a report published by Topline Securities on Thursday.
According to the report, GAL’s management confirmed that the introduction of the T9 Hunter PHEV and other prospective models would depend on the completion of the new automotive policy.
During FY26, the company sold 1,928 units of the T9 Hunter, with its single-cabin 4×2 variant contributing approximately 700 to 800 units to total sales.
The T9 Hunter remained GAL’s primary revenue-generating model, contributing nearly Rs12 billion to its standalone revenue of approximately Rs29 billion during FY26.
However, commercial vehicles delivered a comparatively stronger contribution to profitability. This was partly attributed to the company’s decision to absorb the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) adoption levy imposed on the T9 Hunter.
The management also indicated that additional products for the Heavy Commercial Vehicle (HCV) and electric vehicle segments are under development. However, their introduction is expected to take additional time.
Separately, Ghandhara Industries is planning further improvements to its Isuzu D-Max lineup, with new variants currently in development.
According to Topline Securities, the management noted that introducing new D-Max models could take longer due to the extended development and launch timelines typically associated with Japanese automotive products.
The company also expects to incorporate ADAS technology into the D-Max within the next six months, potentially enhancing driver convenience and safety.
For FY27, GHNI has established a sales target exceeding 6,000 units, while the D-Max is projected to account for approximately 10% of the company’s revenue.
