KARACHI: Ghandhara Nissan announced today to completely shut down its production plant from April 10 to May 01, 2023.
The company in a statement said that due to extensive upgradation activities in the paint shop it is halting its production till May.
Previously, the company had applied new vehicle production schedule from March 13, 2023 which were on alternative weekly basis.
The company had also announced to shut down its production plant from March 06, 2023 to March 10, 2023.
The company had insufficient inventory levels therefore it was unable to continue its production activities on regular basis.
The temporary shutdown reflects ongoing challenges in Pakistan’s automotive industry, where production schedules are frequently adjusted due to supply chain constraints, import restrictions, and inventory management issues.
Such interruptions often impact vehicle availability in the local market and may also influence delivery timelines for customers and dealerships across the country. Industry analysts note that automotive assemblers continue to face operational pressures, which can affect production planning and overall sector performance in the coming months.
Stakeholders are closely watching policy developments and economic conditions as manufacturers adjust strategies to maintain stability and meet demand efficiently. Despite current disruptions, the company is expected to resume normal operations after completing upgradation work, improving long-term production capacity and efficiency. Weak market conditions persist regionally.
