Domestic bullion prices rise as international gold gains $20 amid geopolitical and inflation concerns
KARACHI, August 17, 2026: Gold prices in Pakistan increased by Rs2,000 per tola on Monday, extending volatility in the domestic bullion market as international gold prices also moved higher.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold rose to Rs461,936 per tola, compared with the previous closing price of Rs459,936.

International gold price rises $20
Bullion market experts attributed the increase in domestic gold prices to gains in the international market.
They said continuing Middle East tensions and concerns over global inflation were contributing to volatility in gold prices as investors continued to monitor geopolitical and economic developments.
In the international market, gold prices increased by $20 per ounce, rising to $4,395 from the previous closing of $4,375.
Gold market remains volatile
The latest increase comes after gold prices in Pakistan recorded strong gains in recent sessions, reflecting the impact of movements in the international bullion market on domestic prices.
Market participants are closely monitoring developments in global markets, particularly geopolitical tensions, inflation trends and expectations regarding monetary policy, all of which could influence gold prices in the coming sessions.
The continued strength in international bullion prices is likely to remain an important factor for domestic gold rates, alongside movements in the Pakistani rupee and local market demand.
