Domestic bullion market gains Rs300 per tola as international gold prices post modest increase
KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan edged higher on Monday, July 20, 2026, with the price of 24-karat gold increasing by Rs300 per tola, following a modest recovery in the international bullion market.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA), the price of 24-karat gold settled at Rs424,536 per tola, compared with Rs424,236 in the previous trading session.
The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams also rose by Rs258 to Rs363,971, up from Rs363,713 recorded a day earlier.
International gold prices post modest gains
The improvement in gold prices in Pakistan mirrored a slight increase in global bullion prices.
In the international market, spot gold gained $3 per ounce to settle at $4,021, compared with $4,018 in the previous session.
The modest rise in international prices supported local bullion rates, although overall price movements remained subdued compared with the volatility seen in recent trading sessions.
Global factors continue to drive local bullion market
Gold prices in Pakistan generally follow trends in the international bullion market, while fluctuations in the rupee-dollar exchange rate and domestic demand also influence local prices.
Investors continue to view gold as a preferred hedge against inflation and economic uncertainty, with prices responding to changes in global interest rate expectations, central bank policies and geopolitical developments.
Market outlook
Analysts expect gold prices in Pakistan to remain sensitive to international market trends in the coming days. Any significant movement in global bullion prices, currency markets or geopolitical conditions is likely to influence domestic gold rates as investors continue to monitor developments affecting demand for safe-haven assets.
