Domestic bullion market extends losses as international gold prices slip by $10 per ounce
ISLAMABAD: Gold prices in Pakistan extended their downward trend on Tuesday, July 29, 2026, with the price of 24-karat gold falling by Rs1,000 per tola, following another decline in international bullion markets.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA), the price of 24-karat gold settled at Rs426,436 per tola, down from Rs427,436 recorded in the previous trading session.
The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams also decreased by Rs857 to Rs365,600, compared with Rs366,457 a day earlier.
International gold prices weaken
The decline in Pakistan’s bullion market mirrored losses in global gold prices.
In the international market, spot gold fell by $10 per ounce to $4,040, down from $4,050 in the previous session.
The softer trend in international bullion prices weighed on domestic gold rates, which are closely aligned with movements in global markets.
Domestic market follows global trend
The latest decline comes after several sessions of sharp volatility in Pakistan’s gold market, with prices fluctuating in line with international bullion trends and investor sentiment.
Gold prices in Pakistan are primarily influenced by global gold prices, movements in the rupee against the US dollar, and local market demand. Changes in international spot prices are typically reflected in the daily rates issued by the APGJA.
Outlook
Market participants are continuing to monitor global economic data, central bank policy decisions and geopolitical developments, all of which remain key drivers of international bullion prices.
Analysts expect gold prices to remain volatile in the near term as investors assess inflation expectations, interest rate prospects and demand for safe-haven assets in global financial markets.
